Hello everybody! My name is Tyler and I will be writing for the next week here on The Green Medium. I'm a third year Secondary Education student and I have some background working with elementary school kids at a daycare. I have always enjoyed writing and love to use my knowledge to help others in their own work.
Now that's out of the way, let me tell you about who I really am. Through the process of growing up I have picked up and dropped more hobbies than I can count on all my fingers and toes. Although it has been discouraging to move onto a new project, I have always enjoyed learning something new. While they always change, I mainly focus on art and music.
For my writing this week I wanted to focus on my newest hobby, sewing. While I am a complete amateur, I have enjoyed exploring all the different materials and methods that can be used to create clothing. I thought this would be an interesting topic to cover as the production of clothes is a very controversial issue when getting into the harmful practices many workers are involved in. Along with these conditions, the material used in clothes can have an negative impact on the environment as well. I hope to shed some light on the issues surrounding this industry and also show many of the alternatives that are out there for you to buy, or even make yourself.
Below is a picture of my grandma and I on her last day of vacation. It's kinda silly, but she really thought the puppy dog filter was cute and wanted a picture with me.
